Soil fertility is the most underestimated production factor in many production systems. Soil fertility degradation is called a ‘silent killer’. It is hardly impossible to notice soil fertility decline for unexperienced eyes, until it is too late. SoilCares Foundation wants to help organisations in soil management to secure viable pr

Fast soil recommendations with great impact

Soil sampling used to be cumbersome, expensive and prolonged. Now, on the spot and customised soil management recommendations can be generated within 10 minutes using the handheld AgroCares Scanner. SoilCares Foundation recognises the impact this innovation could have for smallholder farmers. Notably, the vast majority of smallholders does not have access to information about their soil status, while at the same time the soil is a key production factor and farmers spend a considerable part of their income on (organic and mineral) fertilisers to feed their soil.

Soil information in the hands of farmer

With the AgroCares soil Scanners soil information becomes in the hands of farmers, so that they can make an informed decision about best soil fertility management. That is how SoilCares Foundation wishes to empower smallholder farmers to improve their farm performance.
